About this newsletter...
With each issue of this newsletter we focus on how a company has benefited from using WorkZone.
They tell a variety of stories, including how WorkZone was used to conduct research around the world at virtually no cost, enhanced sales training, eased staff transitions, and how WorkZone made decision-making faster on projects that used to linger as the work circulated around the office.
In all cases the stories carry a common theme: how a WorkZone corporate intranet or extranet made relationships stronger.
And the greatest testament to WorkZone is that people use it. All the time. Why? Because its easy to learn and easy to use.

Who needs WorkZone more – a small company or a large company? This is one of the questions I am asked most often.
The answer is that organizations use WorkZone in different ways. In some instances it relates to their size, and in others it has to do with the way they work with clients.
Rather than answering this question myself, here are some observations from two WorkZone users.

User Insight |
The director of a marketing department with over 100 employees had this to say.
With four marketing groups we simply needed a way to standardize the organization of our work. Our need was to find a way to support the different styles of our key managers, and to assure that our service to other departments in the company was appropriate for the way they work.
The problem was to do this without having pure anarchy.
Our WorkZone corporate extranet provides a framework that keeps things organized, without forcing us to work in a prescribed way. From an administrative perspective, it allows me to quickly assess the quality of our service. The logs and reports help me understand when things happened, and the nature of the work we are doing to support our internal departmental clients.
It also helps when we have staff transitions. The orientation period is shorter, because all the work is in one place. Not only is this true for our staff, but for the outside departments we serve as well.
And the CEO of a consulting firm with five employees explained her need for WorkZone.
Along with everything else, Im responsible for most of our client service. Honestly, I dont have time to manage all of the details. As a result, our client service system was no system at all.
I use WorkZone as if it were a personal assistant. For example, I use the comment function as a meeting report. Everything the client says goes right in, and I simply write a summary in WorkZone. In one step, there is a complete record of the meeting and all the action steps. It permits others in the company to quickly see what needs to be done, and I dont have to be in the meeting. Not only has it allowed me to handle a significant amount of additional work, it has made my client service better.
Common to both these companies is the structure WorkZone provides, without dictating how they work.
It does this by giving them the freedom to structure and name the folder and file system in any way they like. And does it in an environment that is far easier to use than traditional paper files, email and FTP sites.
But most importantly, the outside users love it.
Give me a call and lets discuss whether your company is the right size for WorkZone.
